AN IDEAL TEACHER or THE TEACHER YOU LIKE THE MOST...

Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan had rightly said that the teachers are the pillars ¹ of society.  A nation whose teachers are dedicated,  can never lag behind.  The teachers mould the future of young students. In the past, India was know all over the world for it's universities like Takshila. In the present time also there are great teachers who have left an imprint on young mind.

There are more than fifty teachers in my college.  Many of them are popular among the students.  But I like my HINDI teacher the most.  His name is Shri N.P. Bodam. He is about 45 years of age. He loves his students and is always keen to give more and more to them. Simple living and high thinking is his life's motto².

The best thing in Shri N.P. Bodai is that he takes interest in the studies of each and every student individually.  He usually calls students one by one,  listens to their problems and then advises them how to improve.  He even offers free tuition to weak and poor students.  This quality is rare to find among the teachers these days.

Shri Bodai explains us the value of discipline and punctuality in our life.  He has set high standard of both of these qualities in the college. There may be heavy rain,  biting cold or strong wind, but he comes to the college in time and never leaves it before time.  He is never late in his period.  We have never seen him idle in the class, loitering anywhere in the college premises gossiping³  with fellow teachers.  He can only be found either in the staff-room or in one of the classroom.

The best thing about Shri Bodai is that though he is simple,  soft-spoken and loving,  yet he would not tolerate mischiefs and skipping of lectures by the students.  In such cases, he prefers to handle the students himself.  He calls the concerned students in the staff-room when he is alone.  He listens to the student patiently and then sorts out the things in a pleasant way.

Would you agree with me that such a teacher is rare these days and who would not like him if there is one in your college.
